Booking a Study Seat

Book a Study Space

  1. Click on the Book a Space button above
  2. Select a Location and select Capacity Seat Booking
  3. When ready click on the Show Availability button
  4. Choose a date by clicking on the Go To Date icon and then select a time slot (all available slots appear in green)
Once you have submitted a booking form you will receive confirmation email.

PLEASE be sure to book your seat BEFORE arrival.
Once in the building please sit only at your designated seat.

Library Group Study Room Bookings

Click on the Library Location below to start your room booking:

Group Study Rooms can be booked for 2 hours per day. 
Rooms are for study purposes only and groups must consist of three people or more.

Check In to Study Space

Check In

  1. Check In when you arrive at your booked seat / group study room
  2. Click on the Check In button above or using the URL link recieved in confirmation email or by scanning the QR code posted at the space
  3. Enter the code from the Confirmation Email you receive at the booking stage.
If you do not check in within the time limit as stated in your booking confirmation email your booking is automatically cancelled and the seat becomes available for anyone to book.

Terms of Use

  • Only registered UCD Students can book study spaces
  • Students seeking entry to the library must have a valid UCD UCard
  • You must use your UCD email address when booking a study space
  • Bookings can be made up to one week in advance
  • Seats are a maximum of eight hours per day (1-hour time or 30 minutes slots) can be booked
  • You must check in when you arrive at the booked space, by using the URL link recieved in confirmation email or by scanning the QR code posted at the space. You will receive a check-in code in the confirmation email you receive at the booking stage. If you do not check in within 15 minutes of the booking start time, your booking is automatically cancelled. This seat becomes available again for anyone to book.
  • Cancel your booking if you know you will not make it in, to allow other patrons the chance to book. The cancellation link is in the same confirmation email
  • Take all your belongings with you when vacating the study space
  • Please read the Terms & Conditions before booking
  • Usual Library admission rules apply for those who have booked a Study Space

Please ensure you keep your confirmation emails as proof of your booking

Non-Bookable Study Spaces

We heard you and understand that many students would prefer not to have to book a seat, but many also do favour booking.  

Non-bookable Study Spaces are now available in:

James Joyce Library: Level 1; Level 3 and Level 2 (seats nearest the lake on Level 2 remain bookable). 
Health Sciences Library: Ground Floor and Level 2
Vet Library: Ground Floor
Richview Library: Ground Floor
Blackrock Library: Level 1
